Robert Schachner has been working in the field of real-time communication in industrial settings for 30 years. As part of numerous research programs, he has investigated middleware technologies and implemented applications in more than 300 projects. His involvement in the VDI/VDE 2657 standard — Middleware in Automation Technology — and, even more so, his teaching position in the Department of Computer Science at the Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences have significantly deepened his theoretical and practical understanding of communication technology.
